Default Drag radial which tire size for A4 3.42gears

Hi

i´m thinking what would be smarter tire size
295-50-16 (28") or 275-40-17 (26")

both are hoosier drag radial tires

i´m thinking this for AUTO whith 3.42 gears , and both NA and spray in mind

i would think bigger is better but maby they are tuff for the NA power

i already have M/H 26X11.5X16 DOT and Hoosier 28X11.5X16 but there are few races here where i live that only allow radials so i´m gona buy the 3rd pair

What's your target MPH? I'd go with 26" unless you are targeting over 150mph.

these drag radial races are all 1/8 mile these days so i´m only looking at the best traction for the setup

when i hit the 1/4 mile i will have the dot slicks under
145-147 are the plans

thanks

I'd go with 26" and keep the fender liners. The A4 hooks well with a little footbrake, it has good weight transfer.

I had good luck with the M/T 275/40-17, 3.42 gear with a 3600 yank. Car went a 7.13 on motor (1.58-60ft) and a 10.43 on a 150-shot.

Thank you Robert I'm learning what works without tubing On a auto a radial works better if you go with 17s the 295/45/17 works awesome! The 275s just spin and don't hook don't waste your $ on them unless you have 500rwhp or less now 16'' wheel is better with a 295/50/16 more sidewall that's where I'm going next for more traction after Brett's new tune its blowing off tires now the car spin's all the way through the 1/4 its scary and Bret tells me stay in dont let off ***** so I can log a full pass and tune her scary!!
