I had a innovator west 10% overdrive balancer installed on my KB supercharged car, car runs fine but when I get on it, it sputters and coughs and doesn't run right,my boost gauge seems to be showing a lot more boost since I'm 10% overdrive now,I was at about 10lbs but now the gauge is going up to 15lbs,I know my stock lower end won't handle that for very long,I'll be changing pulleys as soon as I can get one ordered, anyone know why it could be running bad now? The car is showing no codes and like I said, runs fine driving normal, but when you get on it runs like crap.

because your running out of fuel with 5 more # of boost stay off the gas until you get the re tune and pulley swap your going to blow your motor you may have done damage already

I'm probably way off my thinking but if I went 10% overdrive wouldn't that give me 11lbs boost if I was at 10lbs.
I don't think I did any damage,as soon as it started sputtering I let off and it still runs fine as long as I stay out of boost.
I know people on here aren't big fans off KB supercharger but does anyone know what size I should go with, the drive I have now is a 3.5".
Also thanks for the replies so far.

Oh ya I forgot I am running straight methanol also.starts at 3lbs boost.
It's not 10% more boost its 10% bigger also the meth is not going to give you the extra fuel and new tune needed too save your motor as far as the pully call kb for size advice good luck and stay out of boost until its re tuned
I understand that it's a od but the typical gains at about 2 psi w us centri guys. I def get ur car in for a tune.
I'm going to get a 4" pulley and try that and see what my boost is,I know 15lbs is way high, but the pulley is the only think I had installed so hopefully the 4" will be all I need to do,if that doesn't work I will for sure bring it in for a retune.

If you put on the 4" pulley and you only get back to 10lbs of Boost then you have spent a lot of money for NOTHING!
Now if you put on the 4" Pulley and you still have at least 12lbs of Boost then you will still need to get it RE-TUNED!
No matter how much more Boost you get you need to get it re-tuned for proper fueling, one cannot just add a pulley for more boost and not tune it for the proper timing and fuel etc.
If you don't then you will be discussing on here which motor you should buy!
Call KB and "ASK" them what size pulley you should get - they will be the best to get your target power and boost you are seeking - THEN get the re-tune accordingly!

I really respect all the replies you guys are giving, from what I understand the kb pulleys go from 3.5 to 4" so the 4" is my next step, hopefully that brings me back down to 10lbs to where I was tuned at before the IW install. Am I misunderstanding something,if I'm back down to 10lbs I should be ok,but if its more I should get retuned? Right?hopefully I get a reply from a guy that had a 4" pulley,if not I will be in contact with KB and get one from them. Again thanks for all the advice.
I think a 4" pulley will put you very close to the 10lbs.
The reason to go with the overdrive, is to allow a larger front pulley [more belt wrap]. I plan to do this also. Were you getting belt slip before?

No belt slip,I just didn't like the oem pulley and figured if I was going to change out with the best I should also switch to 8 rib.
I think 15 psi is a little high with this type of blower and a stock bottom end.
I've had this blower on my car for about 5 yrs now, It's making right at 600 rwhp @10lbs,I don't want to push it anymore so I agree with you and will stay at 10lbs or less.
I found a 4" pulley that a guy was selling last January, sent him a email and he still had it,paid 50 bucks shipped and should have it hopefully by Wednesday.
