Been away from the board awhile working and doing the new family thing. Looks like ill be moving up to Reno here in the next week. We got any members here driving there cars in that weather an so you think I can drive mine up there with no issue?
Never drove my car "up there", but I'm in Reno every year for a week or so. High desert makes for some good "top end" runs..........to bad it will be 4400+ft elevation.
It will be way different for ya.....going form one of the most humid/sea level spots to a super dry/4400-ft spot.
Dang....Reno, so close to hell you can see Sparks...lol
I hope its not an elective move.....Reno can be rough and the local economy seems to be in the dumps.
They have a decent summer car scene (hot August nights).
The good thing is, its only 45min for Lake Tahoe...............lots of outdoor things to do.
Edit: No, I do not think you will be able to drive from Houston to Reno this time of year with no issues. You can if you get lucky, but the weather can change fast and it can easily be 50* one day and 30* the next with 2 feet of snow, not to mention you will almost for sure have to go through a few mountain passes.

I believe it's going to be nice this week and next, you shouldn't have a problem. The 95 is in the valleys and will be nice and in the 60s.
The roads will be a little cold in the mornings but by 10 they're warmed up. Even it there is rain, the amount it rains is very little and I'm told does not compare to rain in Texas. If you do drive and take the 95 you can always take a detour and go up through Virginia City, that drive if very fun.
and I thought I was the only "crawler" on this board......whatcha got Milan ??
Thanks.............
Growing up in Idaho anything that you can get to in a day isn't "that far" haha. Anyway I've had had a couple lifted Grand Cherokees but I haven't had one that's been a crawler yet. I just picked up another one though about a week ago that will spend a lot of time on the rocks. So far it's still a project but I already have a HP D30 and 8.8 for it and long arms half way built. Should be a beast when it's done.
Here's a pic of one of my good friends from back home (who also lives in Boise now's) Jeep buggy. It used to be a cherokee at one point. He is the crawler guy I'm the car guy lol
