For those of you sticking with a factory style PCV system rather than venting to the atmosphere, do your intake ports look like this after a couple 100 pulls?
I've gone through a lot of setups, with this one making the most power, and I have yet to pull an intake to see everything so nice and clean. Figured it was worth posting.
The reason I had to pull the intake when I was only swapping injectors.
That pic just shows you even more how clean things are.
Looks damn good inside! Especially for having some miles and lots of pulls on it.
I find the same thing on my turbo bike.. When it was NA and even when it had the nitrous setup, it would always cake up the valves and gum up the ports... As soon as I went to turbo, the intake valves and ports stay clean as a whistle.. Also this is venting the crankcase to atmosphere with both setups NA and turbo.
My new setup on my z06 is atmosphere only as well...
I try to tell my buddies even that are head and cam that they need to bypass their pcv setup. Stock they are def not upto the task. My next step is to vent to breather cans maybe mounted in the wheel wells.

It's been an issue since day 1 on these engines in '97. I've never really liked any of the solutions put out there. Once you boost these engines you really see the downsides of it.
I simply capped off all of the stock PCV ports, ran a breather on the valve cover, and ran 3/8" ID hose off the DS valve cover to a cheap catch can with a breather on top of it.
