Default Fuel return conversion through schrader valve

I'm contemplating converting to a return system so i can use a 1:1 regulator. Has anyone ever taken the core out of the schrader valve and used that -4an fitting as the return/regulator line? I'm not sure how much a -4an line/fitting would allow to flow back to the tank. I'm looking to keep the stock rails so I can keep the rail covers, plus no point in going to aftermarket rails yet.

On a side note, is it even worth adding/converting to a boost referanced regulator for less than 10psi of boost on twins? I plan to keep it around 550whp for now on stock lines and pump and figured a 1:1 would help give the stock system a slight bump since it wouldn't be loosing fuel pressure as boost builds. Thoughts?

I know C5kid has done it through the shrader valve. I did it through the pulse damper on the stock fuel rail. A retrun system is real nice gives you steady fuel pressure with the reg up near the rails.

What filter did you replace the stock one with? (stock one is where the regulator is, correct?)

My fuel system goes through the schrader and is very stealth. You can buy a very nice short AN Fitting adapter that goes from a -4 female AN Fitting to a -6 male fitting. Then, make a 180 degree turn with hard line headed back to the rear of the engine. Then across the back of the engine with the FPR mounted on the firewall just inboard of the battery. Return line then goes back to the 98 Vette Fuel Filter via the tunnel. We have done 620 RWHP with this setup. FYI, we were not referencing the regulator to boost, but you can if you like.
