Like Shawn said, he has the AEM in there now. In time we can switch it over to being controlled by the Haltech, that way we can ramp boost per MPH or time if we choose.
That way we can continue to ramp up power to the 4l60, but keep it together off the line. Then the possibilities of a mid 8 second 4l60 car are there without having to make it a two speed trans to do it.

(although I'll stick with my glide/9" set up)

How about a Halltech and Wastegate install and tune deal with a track rental at ATCO?

If you mean for your new build you know I would be more then happy to help Arun. Between the two of us I think we could make some jam!

Thanks Scott, it would be a haul I know, but if you want to take a road trip here I would be happy to help you dial your car in the best I can.

Getting the car to hook or not hook is very tune dependent, track too of course, but very heavily tune dependent. For instance breaking the shaft in the rear on the last pass is what I call "getting a little greedy".

Now you know what engine combo to put in the mustang if you really want a Ford to go fast...

I think your missing something here, in order to do what your doing you have to buy the AEM, a Wastegate and plumb it all in.

The 4L60 thing is alot easier, put the shifter in 2nd and hit go. No other mods needed and nothing else to mess around with.

The aem is used the same way mine is. For index racing, to blow off a little excess to,run the number dead-on. It works. Well. Once you figure it out. The aem isn't used on the launch. Only to limit top end boost. Greg's car runs 10.00 on spring pressure alone, so he has to do something else to slow it down to run a 10.50 index. No worries, we have a slew of ways of slowing it down to run a number. All of which are very effective, but every car is different...

Tommy's 4l60 worked perfect in all gears, even leaving in first! He wants to get it running in complete street mode, the way most of ours do.

I know my car, hates being launched in 2nd gear. I have to kill it up top to run my 10.00, or 10.50. But I am nowhere near the power level of you guys...

The point here is the AEM is not being used for index racing here-it being used to pull boost so it doesn't blow off the tires in first gear.

So we have the 2nd gear launch. And the beauty with that is-there are no changes made to the trans-just put it in 2nd and go.

Even thought he AEM helped, the OP still ended up breaking his tranny from the hit it makes in 1st gear.
