If an existing thread has not received a reply for a period of 45 days or more, members should create a new thread which is identical or similar in nature, rather than to post to the existing one.
Similar or identical threads created under 45 days will be considered a dupe, and will be locked accordingly.
This rule will not apply to technical discussions or to posts in threads where such posts have been made to update the threads with information deemed by moderators to be of benefit to Forum members.
I think it's a silly rule, but it is what it is. Can you take a little more time to decide on what you deem benefitial and what you don't before you close a thread? I've seen a couple of threads I otherwise would not have because someone bumped it, got interested, more people start replying, and then all of a sudden it's locked.
Why not? some of the supporting vendors re-label them as their own and call them American made!!
This is a true fact.

We know who it is. They secretly and quickly pull the headers out of the boxes and re-box them, claiming 'American made'. The most ironic part of the whole deal is that the company owner was running for congress. How fitting is that?

It often shows that people are actually using the search engine, instead of wasting time creating multiple threads on the same topic. And sometimes it's very good to review old information too, and add new thoughts.

I thought the only rule was to make sponsors money and speak highly of them. Wrong forum?

If you have suggestions for the improvement of the Forum, questions or criticism of the Forum or its moderation, you are welcome to PM or e-mail a moderator. Please do not use an open thread for such messages, however.
The work on the Forum's volunteer moderators is difficult enough without having folks calling them out in open threads.
