I have used both MGW and modded C6 Z06.....While MGW is great on track but on street not so easy, specially since you live chicago (live suburbs than its fine)...However C6 Z06 shifter best and thats what i kept it, i cut 1" on top, tap new threads to accept ball shift ****.....awesome.

I've had old and new style MGW, and B&M. I have no had C6 in my car yet but I think I plan on switching to that next.
MGW is a drag racing shifter...it's perfect for 1st-4th but if you spend a lot of time in Mexico shifting into 5th can be kind of a PITA...which is why I'm gonna go back to C6.
I've also done the anti-venom mod and found it to be possibly the most overrated mod in the C5 community...next to the hood seal

I also did that mod, easeup some sifting reverse and first and sec gears actually, use only 1 washer though bronze forgot what size i used it, may be overrated but still lot of people dont know about this mod actually.

I've had the C6 Z06 and didn't notice any real difference. Had the hurst and finally ended up with a B&M and I love it. Btw shortening your shifter handle doesn't shorten the throw. It actually makes it longer and gives you less leverage

I went from stock to ebay shifter, loved it. Added Anti-venom mod, worked very well. Then bought a MGW, first drive, I called Josh and said it was sh$t. Sold the MGW to a friend, and back to the ebay shifter. Best thing I did to help shifting was mod my own master cylinder. 1/8 inch more stroke made a HUGE difference in high rpm shifting.
