NOS
Need some help again. I am thinking about buying a wet NOS system to my Corvette C5 1999. The car is completely stock, just a Supersprint exhaust system and a Donaldson Blackwing Air Filter.
What do you guys think about installing a wet NOS system ???? I know a guy that sell the systems so I could get a pretty good deal.
How does the LS1 engine hold up for NOS, is it "safe" or ???? How about the automatic transmission and rear axle ??? What is weakest link so to say ???
Thanx
Tommy

I think you're gonna really like it! :D
If the system is setup and tuned it will be very safe. Most of the new kits have everything needed to perform well and protect the engine. I have been running a 100 rwhp dry kit since my car had 2000 miles...lots of bottles sprayed and only one damaged spark plug(I got greedy with the gap) in 20k miles. Leakdown and compression check numbers are all very good. I could keep on spraying her for a long time to come if I so choose. In the same regard, there are a lot of happy users on this forum most of whom have had very little to no problems. It really is just boost in a bottle.
The weakest link is the transmission. The diff. assembly is real stout and an A4 won't hurt the halfshafts like an M6. I don't have an A4 so I'm not sure of what they'll take but I've heard that they can take up to 100 Rwhp in a reliable fashion.
You should check out the C5 Forced Induction/Nitrous section for a lot of good info and discussion about nitrous use.
According to the guy who sells it it would be OK (but the highest we can go). Do you guys have the same opinion or ???? Would be great to hear from somebody with a wet system that is happy with it and exactly how it has been tuned in so I can compare that with the recommendations/instructions I got.
Thanx for your help again
