I don't see why a stock LS6 couldn't handle 550 - 600rwhp on 93 pump gas and meth. So you're saying its a ticking time bomb even at those levels?

Order a motor from Texas speed and have it in a month. Last 402 short block I got from them was real nice.

A machine shop needs to be building the motor not a shop that installs it.

1000rw is allot of power and you WILL have issues no matter who installs it. We just try to keep the issues to a minimum. If a shop says you won't have problems they are full of crap. Keep the power below 700 and your chances for a trouble free car increase tremendously. You also have to be smart how you drive the car. I hear people banging them off the limiter all the time. OMG people that ain't good!

Why not, use a restrictor plate and a bigger pulley.

My stock motor has well over 1500 passes on it along with 30k.

It can work, just be meticulous with it. Also, having the right shop and tune will help, a lot.

It's not humor, or a joke. I run meth, and a good tune, hi octane only when higher boost/ timing is needed. Otherwise, meth and pump gas.

These statements are the advice you should be listening to in this thread if you are considering keeping the car and wanting to enjoy it at an elevated power level.

I can't tell from your post what parts you have left, but at this point your simplest achievable alternative could be to find a long block, install it along with your supercharger and have the right tuner get it going.

600 rwhp is enough to run 10's at over 130 mph in a vette. Anyone that tells you to put in a forged motor for 600rwhp is uninformed or trying to take your money.

I'll back Shawn up on this one. Look at his signature. The ET and mph don't lie about what his car is doing with a stock LS1 and what kind of power it is putting down. I made 3 passes at 20 psi this weekend and drove the car home afterwards.

We're not recommending to go set the world on fire, but if 600 hp is what you are after, the stock engine is up to the task.

No offence to you buddy, and i know its been done many times by many, however its just little hassle to check for meth getting empty i know they are cheap, but on a race day yes no matter i would add high octane or torco specially after i blew my motor, well i did not had meth but now its hooked so looking forward to run for a while.

well kind off honestly, probably meth or higher octane or Torco will make it safe, i did not had meth and with 3.4" pulley on Si Trim i think i will be 12 Psi boost approx, so with and 10 psi boost i think you will be ok on street and on track mix with race gas and you will be OK...i guess.

here is the thing.... ive paid Mayhem motorsports over 16 grand for this build and 3 years later i have no car which is 4 states away at their shop for the 3rd time with engine issues. the car was making 700rwhp on this forged ls2 with a D1 and i found a deal on a F1c which is why i was looking to get more hp seeing as the motor needed to be rebuilt anyway for the 3rd time and i have yet to log 1000 miles on this car in the last 3 years. they got the car in mid feb and told me it would be done at the end of feb and thats if i got it to them at the begining of feb so i cut them sum slack (which they dont need any slack cut far as i can see) and let them have til mid march to make up for the delay of getting them the car which wasnt my fault either. it took a month before i called and said hell with it im tired of waiting on you i will get the car there and it took me a week to get it to them after they did nothing for a month!!

now its june and they have not even got the engine together yet!!! there service sucks the communication sucks the ability to keep me informed sucks there building skills obviously sucks.

i text him yesterday and still no reply but he has time to surf facebook all day? seriously? get my car done or oh wait it must be already done if you have all this free time!! I am tired of being put off and given BS excuses because they know that because being 4 states away i cant come check on the car so they take advantage of that.

Im no idiot and i can play a mean stupid to test someone! I do know it doesnt take 6 months to get a engine just torn apart. the car so they say had the engine pulled in the 1st week and i was told its sitting on the engine stand so i said awesome so you have it back together? no they just took it out put it on the engine stand and let it sit like it was suppose to tear itself down and rebuild itself.

Up until 3 weeks ago my parts just got shipped out for rebuild. abs module. taked 4 months to take a abs module off and ship it? really? I am basically tired of being tired and the excuses are running thin and i have hit my patience limit ( so yea i am venting on here ) i have been told things and give dates of things being done and every time they are broken not by a week or even a month but months!!!!

to top everything off I am really thinking i may have throat cancer and will be going to birminham next week for test and i have been putting it off for a few months hoping my throat would get better but its not so i am going to get tested. the reason i am stating this is so that maybe the owner of mayhem motorsports will see this post and hopefully feel like crap that i get my car back and cant enjoy it because im going thru kemo or something by then. Bottom line is this ,,, Karma will get you Jay count on it! not to mention maybe even the court of law

so to everyone who read this short version which is still long to the story of why i posted this thread thanx and sorry for the long post if i save someone from going there and getting treaded like i have been then that hurts their pockets which is fine with me as they are no motorsports shop just a local bolt on tuner shop at best!

thanx again

Rick

This is why I drove 1200 miles to have A&A install their s/c. I could have gone to Sacramento which is only 300 miles round trip, but I didn't want problems, and they had only installed six s/c while A&A have installed hundreds. Same thing with the BAP. The shop in Sacramento had never installed a BAP, so I made another 1200 mile round trip to A&A.
I have had Zero problems, and they completed the installs on time.
