ARP Head Studs??
Which ARP head studs is everyone running and at what power level. Are the ARP 2000s really only needed when going for 1000+ rwhp?
Thanks,
Rob

No doubt I will be using all ARP throughout but I have noticed they have 2 different head studs and I am wondering if the ones for roughly $300 is good for my needs or if I need the $500 2000s.

If you are F/I or ever looking at going F/I do the 500.00 plus one,s. If going to always stay N/A I THINK YOU WILL BE GOOD ON THE 300.00..

Thre 8740's are perfectly fine-you do not want to torque your heads down anymore than what your engine builder torqued down your bore/hone plates.

There are actually 4 studs they make now.
8740's, 2000's, L19's and the Custom Age 625's
As Arun mentioned, you need to torque the plate with the proper studs and torque them the same during assembly.
I just bought the 625's

625+ studs here for me as well.
Same as others mentioned about over torquing more then what the Tq plate was at.

We send the studs with the block and tell them what to torque the plate to.

Never had a corrosion problem

"Cheapo" 8740's work fine for me. I like Summit or ws6project.com
234-4316 or 234-4317 depending on your block.

Good and I know you were pushing quite a bit of pressure through it.

On mass produced engines probably not. It's a critical step when making big power though. Can you make 6,7 or even 800 WHP and get away with out having used them? Yeah maybe but in the grand scheme of things I'd say it isn't worth chancing it on an engine that cost thousands to build.

Factory head bolts, 850 rwhp. No issues.
What kind of power are you planning to make?

Thats ridiculous and I am wanting to be in the 850 range and maybe spray nitrous on top.
