Default Procharger Bracket Help

Just purchased my first Corvette 01 Z06 with a p1sc-1 procharger and I am trying to figure out what bracket this is. After many searches and looking through prochargers website it does not look like the stock bracket. (I could just be blind though) This is all so I can make sure I get the right size belt. No auto stores stock the gatorback belt around here so I have to order one online. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It looks like an original style Stage I Procharger bracket - "BUT" with different kind of spacers, however with those spacers it looks pretty dang strong!

Did the original owner have anything to say on it? or can you contact him and ask?

They could be custom spacers on an Original Stage I P1SC-1.

Thanks,Matt

Unfortunately he is very hard to get a hold of... I have sent an email but no reply for a couple weeks. He said something about the procharger being upgraded to stage 2, which rotated the position of the procharger. The stage 2 bracket from procharger looks a lot different though.

Thank you

Well you are right it does not look like a Stage II bracket, unless it is a very early style stage II bracket - it might be best to email Procharger (they are really helpful) the pics, then call them and have then access the email!

They should know which it is -

Do you have anymore pics of the radiator cover etc?

It does look like it is somewhat turned into a stage II, if it is then you will have the larger twin intercoolers over the early slightly smaller coolers!

If you are worried about the bracket I would step up to the latest A&A Procharger bracket, which I have and works totally awesome and the price can't be beat for the quality and functionality of the bracket!

Thanks,Matt

Looks like the gen one with an updated outer idler setup, which shouldnt affect the belt size.

What size pulley are you running?

Has A&A's ProCharger bracket been updated? If not, I'd avoid it. Mine looked better than the pathetic ProCharger bracket, but it still slipped and even tossed one belt, shredding my hood liner. So really it wasn't any better. Laser alignment didn't help. Had to get an ECS ProCharger bracket to fix the issue.

This was in late 2007/early 2008. I do not know if A&A revised their ProCharger bracket in the meantime. I know they have revised their Vortech kits a lot.

Wow! Talk about not checking out anything! Perhaps you should look first!

Too bad you had so many issues, I had a gen II and now gen III A&A bracket and never had any issues at all with shredding or alignment issues. I also know may others who run the current A&A Procharger bracket with great success too.

Perhaps it was because you ran one long, or extra long serpentine belt that made things so difficult, they tend to stretch and flex and are hard on accessories.

You might try a Flip Drive, or Direct Drive to go along with your set-up.

Thanks,Matt

Not to get into a bracket war here - but I have a Gen 1 procharger bracket, I do not even run the outer pulley as shown in this picture, and I am hitting 12.4 lb's with no sign's of slip. this is on a p1sc running a 3.7 pulley. I think the challange is more around slip on the balancer then on the procharger.

I know there are many improvements on the ECS and A&A brackets, and i'd run one myself, but the gen one has been working for me. I essentially daily drive my car, not a 'drag' car - so not sure I would see the 'slip' issues associated with such use.

Dug this up.

I totally agree with you, issue had to be aomething else. I used the A&A 2nd gen bracket for a long time, no issues and 14.5 psi of boost.
Only reason I wanted to change was it is easier to change belts with the newer style

My buddy still has his A&A 1st gen bracket on the shelf if anyone needs one!

Thanks,Matt
