What he said. Cut the cowl and be done with it. Custom hood that began with a stock hood is going on mine. Pics are just a mock-up but it will extend to the windshield and slope back down. It wasn't worth spending the $ on the VFN just to cut it up and build on it.

Ended up buying a VFN Sunoco pin on hood that extends to windshield.

(if you buy one, they them not to install the interior reinforcement in the cowl area)

I used Quick Latch push button pin fasteners for the hood (you can see the pins in pic)

All in All, I think the intake is great for $600 including the fuel rails

That is about the silliest cosmetic mod I've ever seen. OTOH, I've wasted lots of money on stuff, too; so who am I to judge?

It's not a good looking street car hood, that's for sure. Took me a while to get used to it.

The Hi-ram intake really isn't the best choice for a Corvette

Street car, no. The reduction of vision, while negotiating traffic/pedestrians is irresponsible. Race car; only if NA. A pound or 2 of boost is a lot cheaper/easier than all that.

Had more to do with optimal gear ratio, which means making power to 8k (boost is always maxed out)

Your car is very intimidating with the hood off. 'Course, that wheels up sig says alot, too.
