i bought some new heads and decided that i may as well thro some new lifters and a cam in if i can do it cheap enough. that being said- I am happy with my stock 98 cam right now. I have had cammed cars in the past and i love the drivability of my vortech with 11 psi boost.
basically, i have a cam thats a comp grind 206/212 .515/.522 112 lsa
made for low end power. Im thinking it may be fun to run this as long as it deals with the boost well. im not wanting to sacrifice my engine as it will have 243 heads on it and stock bottom end.
should i stay with my stock cam? or go with this one? or possibly even the ls9 cam? (i cant find a ls6 cam and the ls9 are pretty cheap new-i have all the parts to make the swap also) my only concerns with the ls9 is that its a little bigger and i do not want to shift my powerband into the really high rpms.
That cam is torquer cam because of 112lsa...give a nice pull at low end. I have had 3 cams so far 1 medium NA cam and 2 blower cams. Best all round cam was 224/230 114 lsa but dont go with xer lobes though instead go with fast valve open and slower valve close...that would be i think if i recall xe on intake and ls lobe on exhaust double check on this...call comp cam or just buy Arun jam cam stage II.....you will be much happy.
