Default mini tub kit

I have a 430CI stroker with the YSI kit and am making 820RWHP. I have a fully built trans and rear end and have PFADT Coilovers and front and rear sway bars. I am looking at the mini tub kit and wondered if anybody has done one?

Why are you copying my setup?

No, seriously though people have done the mini tub kit but a lot of people just do the wide quarters and use a set of welds or other custom wheel.

I'm with MVP! I'd do the wide quarters. Easy to switch back, looks good, and you don't cut anything up! You can fit a 19x13 wheel with a 345 wide tire under there no problem...or any size like it!

Depending on your power level, your best bet is probably the 345/19 Nitto NT05 drag radial.

Even at your power level you will not get a tire to hook up for you on the street. Robert

Well,..I have done my own mini tub kit.

Wasn't planning on it but...long story short, when $7,000 dollar wheels are dropped in your lap for a crazy deal,..you change plans, as I did.

I have coilovers...(dunno what would have to be done on a car without them...if anything). All you do is cut out a section, then move it inboard., cut a flap/filler the size of the area you just cut out..... build a bridge... and boom, they're you go.

I also wanna do a wider fender one day when I have the spare funds for it. If I had an option, I woulda just did that.

What this man said.

We do have one of our cars with an LPE "KIT" which "I' didn't install(years and years ago) and it looks pretty close to mine but,...if you have access to a kit, vs making your own...why not?!

For that wheel, Turbo is right...the NT05. You could also look at a Pilot Sport Cup in 345/30/19 or a Hoosier R6 in the same dimensions. I think the R6 would hook the best for a 19.

For your power level though, I'd pick up another set of wheels if you plan on hooking in third gear. You can forget about hooking 1st and 2nd on the street. I have a set of 16x9.5 wheels that I throw on the back of my car when I need better traction on the street. They have 295/50/16 ET Streets on them and hook in most of third gear @ 22 PSI. If you don't want to drop that low, then maybe look at getting a 17X11 with an M&H 325/40/17 or a 17x9.5-11 with a 295/45/17. With an 18X12 or 13, you could get an ET Street in 345/35/18.

Just remember, the less sidewall you have, the more you will spin...even with a 345 wide tire. A 19 inch wheel at your power level will suffer and you will probably not get full traction on the street until almost or in 4th gear.

That would be over kill for sure no way I would put a 15 inch rim on these car. To me look at one are the other I have the L5 fenders due to just making the car look a little diff.Robert

because my car's front is 2.25 inches off the ground now.. any height added in back slants the nose down even further.. plus i have no issues hooking with them on 15 psi of air
