Default Fuel System Help

I've swapped a forged LS3 into my C5 and have opted to use the stock LS3 fuel rail. It connects to the stock feed line.

I know I needed upgrades in my pumps so I ended up buying the RSI dual walburo unit. This unit has 4 fittings. Two feeds and two that just go into the tank.

I'm assuming I'll Y the feeds together, then connect that to the feed line. Do I then connect this to a Z06 style fuel filter to be used as my presure regulator as well?

What do I do with the two lines that seem to just dump into the left hand tank? I can connect them to the ballance lines for the right tank, will that be fine?

Can I just use a Russell 640940 to connect to the factory lines? I'm not boosted so I think my volume will be fine on the stock lines.

Pump looks like this.

Dang that'd help, its a 1997. So I think this is the route i'm going to go...

Dual pumps feeding a Y that feeds the main fuel line up to the rail.

Between the fuel line and the rail I'll install a fuel pressure regulator with a return connected to the return line.

Return line connected into RSI pump as normal, passenger fuel lines connected as normal.

As long as I run close to stock fuel pressure I should be ok correct?

Since you have a 97' you have a full return style fuel system already and if you have the factory fuel rails then there is a regulator mounted on the rails. I would just Y the two feed lines out of the hat into the factory feed line and of course run the two other lines (return and crossover from pass. side tank) back to the hat as they were in the factory hat. Get a fuel pressure gauge and monitor the pressure to make sure the two pumps arent over powering the factory regulator. If its holding a steady fuel psi then you should be good to go IMO. If however you want/need to upgrade to a better regulator, then simply buy some 01+ fuel rails connect your feed to the factory location (after Y'ing together as mentioned above) then connect a typical fuel regulator to your the access port off the end of the rail. Obviously then you connect the return off the bottom (return port) of the regulator to the leftover line that used to be the return from your 97' rails. Done and Done!!!

Sorry I totally missed the fact that you are running LS3 rails in your first post. If that is the case I would install a regulator in the engine bay and route everything as I mentioned above!

Then you will be able to boost reference the regulator if you ever add a blower/turbo

Caution; If you run both pumps all the time you may end up super warming your fuel on warm days. You will be running so much volume up to the engine and then back again on the return line that the fuel will get heated. The RSI fuel system is designed for FI applications. Perhaps you could wire the second pump to come on with your Nitrous system WOT switch and then on the street you won't be runnig both pumps all the time. With my FI car, I have the second pump come on with about 2 lbs of boost. Works well!

Interesting on the fuel heating issue. How much heat do the pumps put out?

Even having one turn on at 2lbs, isn't it on a lot?

I could put a small fuel cooler in the front...

Found some solid infor over at SVT...

http://www.svtperformance.com/forums...heat-test.html

I don't think heat will be an issue.

Lots of people use summit racing brand fittings these days...pretty good pricing and pretty good quality!

I use all vibrant fittings after speaking to local shop about price and quality.
