Just commented in the SoCal section - I wonder if they will try to shutdown the Thread!

I hope not and I hope it is just not too expensive for you DC!

Thanks,Matt

We worked on this car 3 years ago. It's been driven for 3 + years. I will be honest, the external work done to the motor is frankly our fault, a direct result of a poor employee that worked on the car (which evidently is current friends with the op, but doesn't work for me any longer). I will also admit I personally couldn't get his car not to overheat in stop and go traffic in 95+ degree heat. I personally spent hours on it , added fans, wrapped a deal items. Honestly I guess I failed there. The car has a 403 with a A&a ysi supercharger kit. The op and I have been emailing all day yesterday and I offered him compensation for the wrongful work done even though I was never given a chance to rectify this issue before now (car is in Florida now). Engine wise it had a methanol kit on it, looks like it failed at some point. This kit was already installed previous to us ever working on the car. The customer is claiming engine machining issues but based on the pictures he has provided me , I don't see them. Since this car has been built I have had a complete change over in staff and this isn't a reflection of our current product. I am willing to work with the customer , I have offered to send him brand new components to aid in his repair (brand new block, pistons/rods, etc etc) but the op is wants more that I can't simply give him. Honestly that is all I can say, and frankly I am embarrassed . Sorry if my post is unprofessional , posting from my phone at the race track.

Good Ryne for admitting, and sorry for the OP been there done that.

This is the first post i have about negative of CMS, every single post about CMS was great positive feedback.

As a pro Mechanic myself, chit happens, one of my coworker forgot the cotter pin and tightened the lower ball joint bolt on a Lexus 430, following week car came back on tow truck, lower ball joint separated and customer was shaky shaky.....guess my coworkers was last day got fired same day.

Hope you both resolve the issue, engine carnage is not new in F/I, and in my case one of member sold cracked heads and upon fire piston got hydrolocked and took out heads, piston, rod....whole engine was toasted without even driving......i think my carnage was just beyond horrible.

Was Ryne driving the car around with the failed meth kit?

I dont see alot wrong.. shop don't always do good work.. looks lie hes trying to make up for it in some way... if the OP doesn't like it, maybe he can man up and start doing the work himself and quit blaming others... Its common sense that's nobody will do better work then the owner on his own car.. if you take it to the shop, then you taker whatever chance that its not going to be done like you would have done it. Its really that simple.. If you given the parts to fix the issues for free and still crying about it.. it seems that your looking for more of a hand out then a resolution to the problem.

I've done business with Ryne of CMS for over 3 years now. He's put a few tunes on both my cars, and they both run GREAT!! I just got home from Willow springs, and finished up second in the unlimited class, after hitting the roadcourse every month this year, swapping back and forth between cars...

Does this mean I'm a nut swinger, just because I choose to stay with one tuner, and give him credit when credit is due???

I own and opperate 3 bussinesses. I have many relationships assotiated with them. As long as both parties remain happy, it can be a win win.

Yes, I've been to a few different shops in the 15 years that I've owned and modifed my two vettes. Am I a demanding customer who drives the SH.t out of his cars?? HELL ya! Does my high strung personality jive with everyone or every business man I deal with, Hell No...

Ryne has not only delt with my personality, but kept my 600 and 1000 HP cars alive and well. I find him to be a VERY honest/hard working guy who really trys to do right for his customers.

I've known him for most of the last decade, and also know he opened his shop to take care of customers that were screwed over by other shops, including himself.

While I don't know anything more about this situation then what has been posted, I will say that 3 years after the fact seems just a bit long. I've had motors blow up weeks after they were built, and the owner told me to pound sand! I've had shops gladly accept my props and video promos, only to be eventually treated like a red headed step child when it no longer served them.

This is a tough business for owner and customers, espesially when cars get heavily modifed, and high HP comes into play.

While I now have a lift in my garage, and do some of the work myself, I will confidently continue to take both my cars to CMS as the need arises.

I have learned that there are times when a customer can not be satisfied no matter what we do...

It is VERY rare for a shop to step up and take the type of public resposibility that Ryne has, even with the 3 year time lapse. I certainly hope all parties can make the best out of tough situation on this one...

After 3 years, sure seems like he's being more then reasonable. The combination of experiences I had at shops before Ryne, had me step up and get my own lift. I now do some of the work myself, while trusting Ryne and CMS to do the rest...

Seems Ryne is trying to make things right. I'd take him up on it and take this thread down. It's hard to find a shop with that kind of customer service.

I always say that all shops can have issues.....its how they are handled that shows the good from bad ones. Its very impressive that this shop steps up with help after all this time.
Nice to see.
