Ok so I've got a C5Z and I need a new trans... have a lead on a '07 Z51 RPM 5 and I'm thinking about picking it up... 2 things. 1st: I know I'll need to change the rear housing to a C5 to bolt to my diff (can I do this? Can any trans shop do this?). 2nd: The trans looks to have the fluid pump on the front of it... can I utilize that with some sort of universal oil cooler? If not, do I just loop the pump right there in the tq tube?
I'll have a RPM level 5 t56 with 30 spline output shaft for sale in a few weeks. all you will need to do it send your pinion to RPM to be re-splined. PM me if interested.
You can change out the housing, but it will probably need to be re-shimmed. As far as the cooler RPM makes a loop kit to eliminate needing a cooler. You will need to notch your torque tube for the loop line to be installed.
