We maxxed out the turbo. At 14psi it stopped making more power and we had to pull timing anyway. Boost actually falls off after 5k rpm down to 12psi.

What size turbo are you running, I forgot? I can't believe it maxed out at only 14psi. Did boost fall off because of back pressure or the turbo being maxed? I hope my Hinson kit don't stop at 14 psi I have a precision 76mm. Nice work on the build and and got your goal

Ya I went back and read your build. That's pretty sweet for that size turbine. They spool almost instantly you will love it.

Car is exactly what I wanted. Very snappy and quick into boost. The torque curve is very flat. Pretty similar to the stock ZR1 charts, but I've got 50hp/50tq on them

cam is killing you...I'm sure you are happy with it, but a good cam would let you turn up the boost more and probably get you another 150hp.

Well Mawnee, car looks awesome. Not Gawdy useless amounts of horse power or dyno numbers but like you said "exactly what you wanted" thats all one can ask for with builds like these.

You know the "boost bug" is going to bite you though in the coming months and youll be shooting for 800 not 600's lol. Same thing happened with my nitrous kit, 100 shot was wow at first, then ehhh 150's not cutting it anymore this things SLOW to welllllll me being broke lol.

Newp, this is my second go with a forced induction C5. Most of the regular guys in this section are so "new" they don't remember me doing this all before with the prochargers. I have broken driveline bits and pieces from my 98 still collecting dust in the corners of my garage as reminders. Not going that far with this one.

Nonsense, chain drive is the way to go

Nice job Mawnee. Definitely choked off with the F1-68 .96 a/r turbine and increased displacement. Look at that torque curve though

At least you know if you ever want more, you can throw a F1-75 snail on with bigger hot side and pick up a ton.

Lol Thanks guys Funny enough there was a kid there to have his z tuned after me...and even though he was looking right at my turbo he kept saying " you could pulley down". I didnt bother to correct him =P I guess the turbo location confused him.

You can tell by the torque plateau that its the turbine maxing out. Above 10psi more boost gained more hp, but not much torque, it just came on a bit sooner. Some guys see this as a problem, but I see it as my perfect setep. I got my positive displacement torque and response and fit it under the stock hood. I can blow the tires off at will, but at the same time with a little pedaling the car will still hook and put down.

I dont have a tig yet Just a harbor freight 200amp mig with gas atm. I welded up the stuff under the car, but the manifold, crossover and downpipe I tacked and took to a welder to be tig'd.
