Thanks....just making sure I wasn't crazy. I had a hard time finding any pictures of the full C5 kit not on a car, other than the one in OP, so wasn't sure.
Haha JK the guys at ECS are awesome, they will take care of you for sure. Great customer service
I'm not worried about that....they've been fine to deal with so far. I don't expect them to answer emails after hours and inquiring (eager) minds want to know.
When I bought my ECS c5 intercooler they had to9 build it. Though I never did get the right charge piping with the thing, it was definitely longer than the one here in your pic.
Just to clarify, that picture of the "full" kit is not mine....I found it on Google images that's why I wasn't entirely sure that's what the intercooler should look like.
My ECS intercooler looks like the one in the second photo and does go across a large percentage of the front-center of the car (I have the Tigershark front and it fills the whole opening).

I got the small one used on the c6 kit with mine... I guess you get whatever is on the shelf at that point in time... charge piping was also wrong and I had to cut about 5" off of the side going to the blower outlet

at this point I don't want to wait another month and a half for them to send a part to me... my car has been down for 3 months now and it's almost finished... they should just give people what was advertised and paid for... I was told that the smaller intercooler was being used on all the c5 kits so I went ahead with the install and then see other people getting the advertised intercooler and then I'm told it is a $500 option... hmm I didn't see that anywhere on their site and was not told this when I bought my kit
I completely understand your point. I agree if that's the case it's a bit of mis direction and maybe even false advertisement. I don't even know why they would sell that intercooler. With the right vision you can fit a big ole intercooler in a C6.
im hoping it was all just a mixup.
I will say they had to build my intercooler and it only took about 2 -3 weeks from the time I placed my order until the time it arrived.

So this was basically the response I was given - that this intercooler has been used for the past 5 years in C5 kits.
So has everyone who has bought an ECS kit in the last 5 years received this intercooler?
It is still advertised on their site as "the largest and most efficient intercooler, fitting framerail to framerail" and honestly was a significant factor in me going with an ECS kit over the others.
Here's a better pic of my intercooler with a tape measure for size reference. This thing is tiny. Not my first FI car and I wanted the thickest intercooler with the biggest cross section available which is what I thought I was getting.

I don't believe there is a mix up... I got this intercooler, the op got it, and I have seen others get this one as well... that's too many times for the same mistake to be made in my opinion... just like the op, this was one of the reasons I decided to go with their kit that way I wouldn't have to upgrade an expensive piece of the kit if I decided to go for bigger power in the future
