Default oil pressure issue

So I decided to drive the vette to work today... about 500' from the parking lot all the sudden I got a low oil pressure light and chime.. frantically looking for a parking spot I noticed the pressure at 5-8psi... come back out a few hours later and I've got 28 at idle and at 2k it holds 45-47.... what the hell??

The pressure relief valve on the oil pump is known to stick open. Happened to me. Driving through the neighborhood and boom, zero pressure. If its this it's likely to happen again and eventually not "un-stick" anymore.

I figured it was the valve... so, which pump? The melling 95 or 96? I'm thinking the 95 with the stock style spring... or should I go 96 being that I've got the blower, or would that not really matter??

Thanks guys... good thing for my 4 day weekend coming up.

Ok I think I've decided on the 95, which is standard volume high pressure... another 10psi wouldn't hurt right?? Let me know fellas, about to pull the trigger...

get the 96 I did is your SC oil feed if yes i noticed that I loose 10psi feeding my SC oil so the 96 helps. oil sender not the problem I tried that, you can change your oil and filter with some thick oil then see how the pressure looks with a hot idle with your oil temp around 200+*

were you running the car hard when the pressure dropped? or a long road trip something to make the oil hot, I was when my bypass stuck open.

I just ordered the 95, its standard volume high pressure... ill pick up a new o-ring as well... 119.97 on summit and ill have it tomorrow, cant beat that!

And I was on my way to work, in 5th gear going less than 50mph... my commute is about 10 minutes.

That will work I got mine from summit to comes with (2) O-rings, I got the 96 because I have a built forged motor with more clearance.
