I've been running the Ti for a little over a year. Welcome, and it never stops.

I have a '97 Nassau Blue C5 and pretty much got the mod bug the moment I bought it.

I installed an intake and exhaust on it followed by a built diff with a 4.10 gear.

Then added a Vortech Si kit from A&A. That blew my mind and completely changed the car performance wise.

I swapped in a built trans from RKT56 and then a Carbon Fiber Torque Tube and Carbon Dual Disk Clutch from RPS.

Then I came accross a '09 LS3 short block for a very fair price. Bought new LS3 heads and all the fixn's to make that stock block work in my C5. Put the Si Trim back on and it made 619HP to the tire....for one month.....blew apart piston #7 and out came everything. I was disgusted and angry and vowed to sell the car.

Sold almost everything and bought a 5.3L truck motor just to throw in the car so it ran and could be sold. THEN...I just couldnt do it. I just f'ng love this damn car. The color, the targa top, the power when boosted, the looks. Love it. Love it. Love it.

So I figured if you're not going to sell it......then f'ng build the motor. So thats what I am almost done with. I cant blame the stock LS3 for not being able to handle that much power. The boys at AES are building me their "390" but out of my LS3 block so it will be a "399" I am told.

Once the motor is done I will take it, the big supercharge box and tow the car over to SpeedInc in Schaumburg, IL where they will put Humpty Dumpty back together again.

Then I will be done..................until that next thing......LOL

Wish Me Luck

nice setup it's going to be a monster. What's the deal with the #7 piston it seems common for that one to go bust. I am in the process of installing an lq4 408 iron block, forged internals and I will be crying if the motor gets hurt anytime soon. Can the #7 piston be tuned to run a little rich or go with a bigger injector for it?

#7 just has a tendancy to run a bit lean because of the intake runner design etc if im not mistaken. You can run one step colder plug in it and that may help a bit but the best thing is a good solid safe tune across the board.

Default Boost

The boost is addictive. I bought a Supercharger kit from ECS about 2 months ago, and love it. I am still dialing it in and making adjustments. I did a fuel system, cam, headers, cat deletes, meth and a few other things. Car is making 10 lbs with the restrictor plate, and is a beast on the street.
Have fun.

Looks like we'll have very similar setups. I'm running an AES 390 too. Car made 740/700 with a 3.12" pulley and meth. The torque is amazing. I already want to go to a YSi.
