Offered a good deal on an AMS 1000 EBC with the CO2 system. May be overkill for me but not much more than I would pay new for the Boost leash Apexi or HKS Ive been looking at.
I wouldnt normally pop for the CO2 but apparently hits target boost faster by keeping the gates closed
As far as installation or ease of use it doesnt seem bad and I know a lot of seious racers use AMS. Recomendations?
Congrats man. The AMS 500-1000-and 2000's(2 versions)(pro) are the best. I am planning on the 2000PRO this year.
With compressed air/co2... you have to be worried about anything with diaphragms. TiAl, for example, use diaphragms. JGS, does not. If your gonna be dumping some serious pressure on the gates to keep them shut, you might wanna consider JGS. Replacement parts for the diaphragms are like 55 bucks each so.... just a tip.
Good point on the diaphrams. Have Tial and hadn't thought of that.
Someone also pointed out that if a presurized system fails it remains presurized and gates stay closed. Is that true?
Update: Someone beat me to the deal anyway, I should have jumped on it even for resale. Oh well...
The NLR systems have a vent, so I think, think it would resort back to base pressure. As in spring pressure.

Problem is, that is relying on valve tech to open/close modulate boost. The AMS systems apply AIR PRESSURE to the gates, to force them shut...very effective.
