Default Tires

I would appreciate any info anyone can provide on tires for a C5. I am going to have to replace them soon. I have the run flat tires on it now and will probably go with the same. I would welcome any suggestions on types of tires and any other advice you can offer. Thanks for your time.

Thanks, You are right. I have 375 HP, I just drive it in nice weather and never in snow, and not in rain if i can help it. Mainly just for pleasure drives and short road trips. I will probably average about 4000miles a year or less.

Thanks again!

I had toyo r888's and they were great, I now have nt05r's on the rear and so far so good... with 375rwhp either one of those tires can easily handle that and are more reasonable for street driving than mt's in my opinion... you might also look into the nitto 555r/555r2 and michelin ps2

shoot... for just 375hp and light, good-weather driving, he could just as easy go with Invos. mine do great for what he's describing, but i'm going with something taller & stickier next go-round because i push it hard through the mountain roads for most of my driving & am making mid 500s hp/tq

Going to need a wrinkle wall slick and some drag spindles.

What... just getting him ready.

oh, and a common theme among the suggested tires is that none of them are run-flats. these drive so much better.

Proxes 888's will do you well without the risk of losing control in the rain. I just bumped up above 800+ and they are now not nearly enough on the street. 888's are your golden tire sir!

The R888R's will hook 600rwhp and handle well.

I agree with the others, and had excellent traction with 640rwhp and R888's.

Unfortunately, they aren't available any more. You CAN get the R888R, which is very close to the same thing...but of course those have been on backorder for a while. If you're in a tight spot and need tires bad like I do...the next option (and arguably better anyway) is the Nitto NT01. They are slightly more expensive, but just as good on grip.

Last post was back in 2014 boys, I think this issue has been settled.
