Default Meth line fromt the trunk ??

AIS Trunk kit with the 3 gallons tank.

So where do i run the line from the trunk to the front of the car?
I would like to have a solution that doesnt involve cutting a hole in my trunk floor. So is there any stock opening or grommet somewhere ???

Thanks
Eric

The only stock grommet is up in the firewall. I would NOT recommend running the methanol line all the way through the interior of the car. Plus mounting it in the rear can produce a second or more of delay before the methanol gets all the way into the motor.

Ok so if i ever change my mind and use the washer tank, how long will this last ???

I mean that i really like the fact the AIS kit had a 3 gallons tank. The stock windshield washer got 1.5 gallons i think ...

Boost will be 8 psi and i will run just a small amount of meth has a safety, so how long should it last before my low windhsield washer fluid light go on i my dash ???

So i didnt change my mind and will order the trunk kit.

So since im sure that im not the only one who got those kind of kit:

Where do i need to drill the small hose to passe the meth line ???

Also would you pass it in the rocker panel with my bap and racetronix harness or along the fuel line in the frame tunnel ???

Definitely pass the line rocker panel. In the car is dangerous and in the tunnels has way too much heat.

I believe AEM sells a "check valve" type line fitting that will keep meth in the lines so you won't have that delay. Not + it will fit your application but might wanna search that...

The stock fuel and brake lines along with the main harness to the rear run through the center tunnel. With an insulated tunnel plate in place, I don't see any reason not to run it there. I am setting up my aux. fuel pump in that area and running the fuel lines next to and parallel to the stock lines. Meth is not nearly as flammable in a 50/50 water mixture and the temps the insulated tunnel sees should be relative low.

There is another thread discussing fuel line runs in the rockers and I am avoiding that if at all possible due to the exposure of those lines to possible damage during collisions. The center tunnel placement offers maximum protection.

Your drilling holes to mount the tank.. whats one more to run the hose.

The line run through the rocker is no big deal. Meth kits aren't under pressure unless the car is in boost. Also this assumes he's not using plastic lines and 100% meth=fail

Check valve up front will keep the system primed.. better use a filter or the check valve will fail from trash getting into its seat area.

1.5 gallons is typically enough to satisfy most. Probably a month per refill.. Especially when using a small nozzle as your not wanting to make it dependent.

-The AIS kit already come with a heavy duty check valve.

-Im using -40 degree washer fluid wich is a perfect 50/50 mix and no detergent .Im from canada so its available everywhere for 2$/gallons and got the msds sheet.Got 12 gallons in my garage

-My buddy is a machinist and we will look to make a bracket to hold the tank to some bolts that are already there under the carpet in the trunk.Did not took it off yet.So im looking for one hole only.

-I know that a lot of member like the washer tank method but im not into it, the trunk kit to me is a cleaner install but thats just me .

-Using a 3/8 tunnel plate but with no shield so is it still good to run the line along the stock fuel/brake line ???

Could you tell me which washer fluid you are using. I have not found one that is more that 40% meth.
I don't see how you can have a cleaner install than using the WW tank. Nothing shows at all and it holds plenty of fluid, and uses the warning light if gets low. I don't really know how long a tank lasts, but in normal driving its a while. Normally, if I haven't been to the track, I just top it up whenever I have the hood open to check the oil or anything else. Since I am always tinkering in my garage, this is often. I suppose if you are constantly in boost and pushing the car, then the larger capacity would be a bonus. For me its a non issue, and the less lines and wires running, the better IMO.

If you run a check valve a filter must be used or the valve will fail from debris. The smalls debris.. can be a slither of plastic or fiber gets caught in the seat area of the check valve and won't let it close shut. Like putting your foot in the door.

Example, your fuel system runs a filter to keep trash out of the injectors which can clog them. Its not a matter of "IF" its a matter of "When".

Good luck..

I bought my ww fluid at Rona :

http://www.rona.ca/en/washer-fluid-w...d-washer-fluid

And the msds detail sheet:

http://www.recochem.com/products/tur...eld_washer_40c

It contain between 45%(minimun) to 50% of meth.No detergent.

For everyone info the AIS kit come with a filter between the tank and the pump.

I will try to run my meth line along the stock fuel/brake line.I think that i got some DEI heat sleeve, so it will protect the line from heat.

AEM sells a meth filter for 1/4" lines that's like $40. They advertise it as a 40 micron filter.

People mount meth tanks in the trunk all the time.... not sure why everyone is giving you a hard time. Hell, a lot of diesel guys mount it in their truck bed...

Still dont know yet , weather is still really crappy here( lot of snow). So no place in the garage to work on the car since the c5z and the wife mustang taking all the available space.(winter storage).

But while you are there , is there any better or worse place in the trunk area for the meth tank ?
