I have an 01 z06, stock motor, mp112 blower, boostapump, longtubes, and no cats. I am looking into switching to e85 in an effort to reach 550-600rwhp. I made 470 rwhp @7lbs with a mail in tune from magnuson. No matter how much I look or how many people I talk to, I always get a different answer and I am unable to figure out how to do the conversion. Some people have said bigger injectors and bigger fuel pump, others have said I would need to upgrade to a return style fuel system. I guess I am looking for someone who knows or has done this.. Thanks.

E85 will require much more fuel flow than regular gasoline even at the same power level. So in a short answer yes you will need bigger pump/pumps and injectors.

You will always get different opinions based on others experiences but here is what I would do if it were me in your situation. Since you said only 600whp I would leave the factory fuel pump/ lines in place and run a UPP fuel system with the upgraded 044 pump. This will get you plenty of fuel delivery to reach your goal then you would need to upgrade injectors as well. 80lb inj would get you there on E85 but w/o a lot of room to grow. This is the cheapest /easiest route to take.

But......
If you wanted to spend more money and do more work you could convert your entire fuel system to a return style and it wouldnt be too difficult since you have an 01. This would also allow for much more power if you decide you want more later. You would need to replace your factory fuel filter with a 98' corvette style filter which eliminates the factory regulator/line from your fuel system. You would then need to run an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator in the engine bay. You will either need to run a new feed line and use your factory feed as the return or run the factory feed and then run a new return line back to the fuel tank. You will still need an additional fuel pump to supply enough fuel for that power on E85 so you could run a secondary fuel pump that is boost activated and tie it into the feed line at the fuel rails. This scenario is a little better IMO only because you can boost reference the regulator and get a little more power out of whatever injector you choose to go with.

Hope this helps and isn't to confusing!

I am very impressed with your knowledge of this. Another thing that had me confused was how the c5 style has 3 different kinds of fuel systems depending on the year etc.. I will check into the information you gave me and Ill message you when I run into more questions. Thank you
