Default crankcase venting

Are you guys running any vacuum pumps, etc to evacuate the crankcase? Right now, I have individual hoses attached to all four "vent lines" on the valve cover, and a filter mounted on the oil cap. I don't have anything attached to the intake ports right now
Thoughts?

Are we talking a V/pump on a c5 with air and everything on the car. Are you talking about a full race car here. I didn't think anyone made one for a c5. MORE INFO HERE...Robert

It doesn't look like I have any oil "mist" coming out of the hoses AT ALL, but I do have a small leak SOME WHERE at the back of the engine (newly built)that I can't find for the life of me
I have small amounts of oil on the very back/bottom of the oil pan (from about the wings back) I have pulled the inspection cover 3 different times, and can't see a single drop anywhere in it or around the rear seal. I checked the dipstick tube entrance, and had to pull the valve cover to replace a bad oil sending unit (thought it was that) and didn't see any oil on the back.
I simply can not find the source, and it drives me crazy because it is a new engine!!!
I was just making sure I was venting properly, and one of the motor guys had mentioned running a "vacuum" pump.

This is a pure street engine, not a race car.

I had an oil leak on the backside of my engine awhile ago. I to thought it was the OPSU, sounded like a common problem. Replaced that but still dripping oil on my LT header. Turned out to be a bad o-ring on the cam sensor.

It sounds like you don't have enough crankcase venting and are pusing it out the rear main. It's hard to see because it hits the back of the flyweel and gets spun around. There is oil inside the inspection cover?

I toyed with the notion of an electric vacuum pump but never tried it. Not sure it would move enough air under boost.

I have run my finger around.inside and. it is pretty clean. I can see the lower part.of.the seal through the flywheel holes and.there isn't a single drop.It.looks perfectly clean
I basically have all 4 "holes" vented to the atmosphere and a 5th through a filter in the oil cap. Don't know what.else to do.

You could have oil leaking from the main cap bolts the 10mm ones in the side of the block! may need sealer on the threads.

Mine did the same thing and it drove me nuts. No drips but a little oil collected on the bottom of the pan. Turned out it just needed the lower pan gasket changed. I also put teflon tape on all the bolt threads and no leaks at all. Good luck, Rod
