I just changed my oil pressure sending unit and now it still reads high. Its around 70 psi when i start it and it goes up in the high 80s when im driving. what do you guys think this could be?
You need to torque that thing correctly they are sensitive to over torquing. IMO that's what cause the failures prematurely. Go to harbor freight and grab a torque wrench for 10 bucks good luck
I did the same thing...replaced my sending unit and now I have a high reading...started freaking out, so I just turned my key to the "on" position and it was already reading 60 and it wasn't running so I knew I didn't have an oil pressure problem...just have to change that stupid sending unit again.
they are annoying, it's best to do the OPSU relocation kit so you don't have to remove the intake or anything. It will be relocated to where the fuel rails connect on the driver side, it's much easier to get access to and looks clean. I added a mechanical gauge right before the sensor so I get to verify oil pressure and swap it easily if need be.
