its been a major pain but working on it should only get easier from here right? usually the first time sucks lol. it feels like its taking way to long but ive only been able to work on it a few hrs at a time and most of the time im either needing a tool or a bolt or something and it takes an hour just to do that, i hope to start it tomorrow.. all thats left is plumbing the manual boost controller and hooking up the vac lines to the wastegates and a few other small items... im waiting on putting the x pipe on just incase i have to pull the downpipes/turbos again... crossing my fingers there are no issues/leaks.

well went to start the car and it wont turn over, removed the started and jumped it straight off the battery and it wont spin.... not a clue how it went bad but looks like im going to need one. im going to take the opportunity to just order one of the mini's, my question is which one gives the most room and has enough juice to turn the motor over without a issue?

Well that sucks, because I'm sure that means pulling a downpipe already which isn't fun. Maybe missed a ground wire? I didn't see any benefit to the mini and use an Oreilly starter, that has been working well.

i was able to pull the starter without removing the downpipe or turbo/manifold. i was even able to keep the drain line etc still hooked up, got to love the ls2 pan! lol

i checked all the connections on it, everything was hooked up right but im wondering if it shorted across the contacts since they were close? id get a click and that's it and everything got extremely hot so something was touching something it shouldn't of been...

when i had the starter out i hooked it up to the battery with some loose wires, the solenoid works but the starter will not spin. im still going to bring it to one of the parts store's and maybe they can test it for me.

+1

I use an Oreily "Ultima" mini starter from a 5.7/LS on my BBC and I have had much better luck with it then I did a Summit "Racing" mini starter... The Oreily starter is MUCH smaller and starts over the 10-1 comp big block with locked out timing pretty well...

Most of the race style mini starters are nothing but problems...Particularly with the gears/adjustable mounts etc etc.. Starter gear almost always hits the fly wheel wrong, regardless of the shims..

Stealth just pick you up an Oreilys mini starter and slap it on... You can be banging gears tonight...

Congrats!!

Can't see video, will have to wait until I get home. I know mine was STUPID loud open downpipes, hard to hear anything. Had to yell to communicate while standing next to it .. Drop it down and take it for a quick drive (if you didn't in the video). Nothing like a little engine load to expose a leak if there is one. Or check your front O2 sensors and see if there is much difference between banks.

yea, i still need to button up a couple things then ill be able to drive it around and check for leaks. the car wasnt crazy loud open downpipe, with the exhaust its just as loud as it was with the blower, you can clearly hear the turbos even with the exhaust on the car.
