Gettin' on down there! New best again with the ECS Novi 2k!
Went to the track yesterday since the big dogs come out to play on Saturdays and that means the track is prepped REALLY good. I am still getting this car dialed in--it only had about 7 passes on it with the blower setup. Anyway, I wanted to tweak the tune a bit and see if I could come home with another new best. As it turns out, it was a great day for racing. Temps were around 70 degrees and sunny, though the density altitude was still far from ideal at 1800'.
Anyway, I finally met my first goal for the car which was 6.30's in the eighth! The car makes consistent passes back to back on E85. I ran a string of low 6.30's, with the best being:
60' 1.44
1/8 6.31
MPH 110
Here's the video:
And recap of mods:
-E85 fuel
-ECS Novi 2000 kit with restrictor plate, 3.8" blower pulley, A&A secondary drive kit
-A&A twin pump external fuel system
-C6 Z06 in tank pump with Racetronix harness
-Bosch 1000cc injectors
-Innovators West overdrive balancer (8")
-ECS big blower cam
-Dynatech long tube headers with cats feeding stock titanium exhaust
-RPM level 6 4L60E transmission with Yank SS 3600 converter
-M&H Racemaster drag radials 275/50/17 (28") on Z06 fronts

Congrats man!! You are getting it down there. That 6.30 is a 9.95@140 in the 1/4 so... You're in the 9s on s stock ls6 motor.. Can't beat that...especially in 1800' air.
Probably has 9.70s in it in 0' air.
Keep working at it! How much boost/timing is in it?

Yep.

It's together now, just trying to work out a few bugs.
If the stars align it might be ready this weekend to run at the big Radial Fest race at Huntsville dragway... I wouldn't be competitive in any class, but this will probably be the best track prep the track has seen.

No dyno numbers yet.
I'm more interested in track times, but I am curious to see what type of HP it puts down.
My goal is a 110mph 1/8th on boost once I get everything worked out and eventually a 5.99 et but that will surely require some changes from the base set up.

What kind of power are you putting down?
Its encouraging to hear that you are running that hard (fast) AND on Racemasters with a RPM level VI.
I was told a 4L60E VI wouldn't hold my power, and I don't even go to the track.......
Congrats on the time; That's moving!

Background to the video clip:
Thursday night at our local drag strip we had a chance to turn a grudge race into something positive for the community charity. My buddy got challenged to a race on a FB "smack talk" page. The one who challenged my buddy had just bought a 2011 Mustang out of state and hadn't even gotten it home yet before the call out was made! The Mustang has a built motor with an F1A Procharger, 4L80 trans with manual valve body and 6,600 stall converter, 9" rear with spool and 4.10 gear, race seats, 6 pt roll bar, etc. I want to say the car made 700 rwhp... very nice setup.
Now my buddy's car is an all motor 2008 Z06 with a decent size cam, RPM level 6 4L60 conversion, Yank PT4000, and 3.90 gear. And for what it's worth, his ET's are well known since he's usually not grudge racing. The callout from the mustang guy was for heads up, pro tree at the local eighth mile drag strip for a little cash. The positive spin on this was suggested by my buddy to give the winnings directly to the local charity. So they agreed and locked it in... Btw, this was the first time the mustang owner had even driven the car. He did get a couple test passes in before the grudge race though.
