if you have the means, this is a really good quality setup and will take you past 1000 rwhp if done right

the UPP turbo kit is looking good too. they are working on a new top mount kit which looks really good, but it may not be ready yet

the "fenderwell" UPP turbo kit is much more affordable. I can't speak to the quality of the UPP and install as I too have a ttix setup in my 2003 z06 and love it.

but if I had to do it again, I would take a hard look at the upp because I'm cheap and so far the feedback has been quite good!

it will deliver all the power you need and takes advantage of more of the factory parts (mainfolds)

the ttix cast manifolds are great, my only complaint is the packaging of the turbo intake tube and tight tire clearance around the pipes going throught he wheel well

overall the ttix is probably the best engineered kit around, I saw one the other day for 8k which is a smoking deal

the UPP is under 6 all the time not sure what the pricing will be on the new kit

I went with the UPP base kit b/c of the price sale when I purchased it. With a junkyard 6 liter, minor mods, and the UPP kit I made 830rwhp/900rwtq reliably on 18#'s and still maintaining 25+mpg highway cruising. CK's service is superb also. Good luck on your choice and regardless plan an extra $3-5k on misc supporting mods.

Is there a less expensive turbo kit. I'm trying to only spend around 3-3.5 k on a system.

Nope... That will barely get you into a used supercharger system...

turbo and 3-4k would have to be a home made cheap turbo build. I like my custom rear mount but plan on 3X that price to build a bad *** turbo setup.

Buy an 87-93 mustang. Their turbo kits are around $3k. I don't think you are going to have any luck buying a working turbo kit for a vette in that price range unless you can fab it yourself and find good deals on the individual components.

yup, there may be some deals to be had, but doing it several times can often cost more

the vette tax definitely applies here

fabbing up the headers isn't trivial, and a rear mount STS system is hard to score for 3500

cheap and turbo vette don't normally go together

best bet is to buy a completed car. there is an sts car for 18k, you can likely sell your car for close to that

I got more than that invested. And I kinda like my car. I can see buying a second one done up already. Maybe I should supercharge it

There is a A&A YSI setup in the classifieds right now for sale by one of the forum regulars for absolutely amazing price... Consider that strongly.

It's not a self oiling system. Although. I'm seriously leaning toward talking to him

Turbos wouldn't be self oiling either in most cases...

And so what, you drill one hole in the pan and you are done. No such thing as a self lubricated YSI!

That YSI setup??? That setup will support north of 1000whp! I don't think you could dial it back to under 600 if you wanted to!

I guess I should give him a jingle. Than it sounds like it's a complete kit as well
