I think most people don't realize that the valve is open most of the time. While a loud valve may sound awesome when shifting at 6,000, it may bother you when cruising, coasting, idling etc. as the valve is open during those conditions as well.
Keep in mind that a YSi with a 3" pulley will be much louder than an Si with a 3.8" pulley. It's all about airflow through the valve.
With a Tial you're stuck with what you have but with our valve you can set it up in one of four ways.
1 As normally supplied. A filter is fitted to the discharge to slightly muffle it. It's fairly loud but not obnoxious.
2 Same as 1 but with the filter removed. Louder yet, bordering on obnoxious. Probably about the same as a Tial.
3 With the optional trumpet installed. Considerably louder and definitely obnoxious.
4 With a hose attached to the discharge port running to a "Y" pipe. Two filters are attached to the ""Y". Splitting the flow slows each air column into two smaller ones with less volume and velocity. This tube can be run up behind the headlight to quiet it even more. I run the Y on my own car.

The 52 and 50 are one and the same. I think the piston bore is 50 and the discharge port is 52 or vice versa.
