Default PCM update

Based on several responses, I guess I need to update to a later model PCM for my blown 98. I have read the sticky, but need better details (pinning diagram, parts needed, and ESPECIALLY, the cure for the fuel tank issue)
Can anyone that has done this update shoot me a PM or contact me?
Thanks

Not sure, but I see it mentioned every time someone discusses swapping them out.
Something to do with pressure. Also some issues with "extra wires"

Have you considered any options like a Halltech? I don't know how crazy your build is. LS1Tech may have the pinout diagrams, haven't seen to much about it here lately.

Its not too crazy, but I'm running enough hp (close to 800) and revving so fast that im having issue with the trans not shifting before hitting the limiter. I've had 3 different blower/trans vendors recommend going to a faster PCM.
I been looking on LStech and here, but haven't found a pin-out diagram. Lots of "how too" articles, but no diagram yet.

I did a quick google search and found this. It's a pin out of a later model PCM. They have all the PCM's there.

I have a 97 C5 and did the repinning of a 99-02 PCM in my car, Its not that hard,I didn't run into any fuel tank issue's.If I remember there were 2 or 3 wire's left over that I just taped up out of the way.I have the the pin out diagram that I made up on which wire goes where,If I can find it I'll post it up.

Here is the 97-98 pin out.You will also need EFILive or HP Tuners to change the vin # and reprogram the operating system in the PCM. http://r.search.yahoo.com/_ylt=A0LEV...0o2zO_i0Q2z0c- Make your self a print out of both diagrams,On the 97-98 print out write next the pin out where each wire goes before you take out any wires from your PCM and if you have a label maker mark each wire and take your time.

For example you would take From the 97-98 PCM RED plug C1 Pin #12 LT/BLK curcuit # 844 Fuel Inj 4 control and put it in the 99-02 PCM BLUE Plug PIN #44 and so on

I thought you couldn't change the VIN on HP Tuners.

I saw some red/blue connectors on ebay for $40. Might be easier to just pull wire from old PCM and install directly to new one.

If you are licensed for the particular vehicle type or the year model you can change vins with hp tuners.

To clarify
Do I NEED to use a 99-02, or can I use a 03-04? While looking for a PCM, I was told I needed to use a 03-04 to take advantage of the increased tuning functions.
Thanks guys

I upgraded my '98 PCM to a later 411 PCM when my old PCM kicked the bucket during tuning after my supercharger install. I did the work right in my tuner's parking lot and the job took around 5 hours or so... I am in no way shape or form an electrician but will say my car started first crank after the install and there were no codes.

The links below got me started on the project:

General help: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-corvette.html

About the fuel issue: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...cm-re-pin.html

I made up a spreadsheet with the '98 pin out diagram on the left side and corresponding '02 diagram on the right side. My diagram is attached to this post.
- Column B shows the old pin location.
- Column C is the circuit number.
- Column F is the new pin location. For instance, cell F7 means Blue connector, pin location 73.

I purchased 2 extra connectors to move the pins to. Basically I started with the first pin on the old red connector, which was pin 4 (circuit 633) and moved it to the new blue connector, pin 73.

As I moved the pin wire I labeled the wire with the circuit number. This ensured that if things got mixed up I could trace and fix. You see the beginning of the project in the picture I attached. After the first pin was moved I just went on to the next pin in line on the old connector, red 7, and moved that one.

For the fuel level issue just leave pin 44 on the blue connector unconnected. It basically kills the power to the fuel sending unit in the right tank. The link above gives more detail.

You will have a few other wires that you will not pin to the new connector... No worries, just tape these out of the way. The first link goes into detail about this.
