Thinking about adding a catch can to my F1C Procharged 427. Reading the installation instructions, it appears that the thing mounts at the front of the passenger side head, a spot already occupied by the blower. Any other thoughts about a location?
I installed the E2 last year on my NOVI 2000 bracket. Not sure if your bracket will allow for a similar installation.
How did you handling installing this catch can? I'm looking to install it on my Procharger C5 as well and not sure what the proper install method is. I've seen multiple diagrams but some catch cans are different and it looks like there are different methods. I'm so confused at this point and need help lol
Don't you need another hose coming from the air filter inlet on the Procharger going to the can? I'm asking not telling you. I saw a few diagrams on supercharged applications showing another hose being used. Anyone have any idea why they would want you to do that?
The theory is that when not in boost, the vacuum in the intake manifold will draw air out of the catch can, which draws air out of the driver side valve cover. When in boost, the intake manifold is pressurized and the check valve on the catch can closes as to prevent pressurizing the can and the driver side valve cover. So to evacuate the valve cover while in boost, the line at the supercharger inlet is used. There is vacuum at this location (I have never seen this quantified) which draws the air out of the can/valve cover.
I hope this helps answer your questions.
