I bought a ttix 6265 turbo kit about a year ago and finally I'm going to do install it.
Im about three hours in, I pulled the exhaust and removed the bumper fenders and hood. Now I've got some extra room so I won't scratch anything if I get lazy.
No, I'm leaving evrything in the engine stock for now. I'm new to turbo- ing and corvettes. I'll probably do rods and Pistons down the road (and maybe a cam) but for now, due to budget constraints, I'm just going to put it together, take it easy, and hope it holds for a while.. And if not, I guess I'll cross that bridge if I get there. My goal at this point is 550 to 600 rwhp.
you can get the manifolds on but in order to get the inlet pipes onto the turbo you will most likely have to drop the engine cradle a bit
getting to the down pipe bolts is tricky and you need to get the right socket and some 1/4 extensions and flex joints it's really tight
take special care to route and seal up the ac line
good luck! consider some meth to get the stock block to live above about 10 psi
you will love the ttix
Thanks for the advice! Its definately tight.
Other than the turbo kit I have a kenne bell BAP, racetronix Hotwire kit, 60lb seimens inhectors, alky control, and eboost street. I want to run some sort of wideband gauge but I want it to be stealth and haven't decided on one yet.
By the way, finding a 45/64in drill bit for the 1/2ntp drain is more diffivult than I thought. 6 stores and no one has it. I think I'm going to use a stepped bit and go to 11/16ths unless anyone thinks that's a bad idea.
I had an extremely hard time getting those aswel. Fastenal ending up have one but I had to order the other from online. I'd be willing to lend you them for the cost shipping. They are stupid expensive for what they are

Well my turns out a friends dad had a 45/64 drill bit, what luck! Got the passenger side of the oil pan drilled and test fit the passenger side turbo and manifold. I need more clearance between the compressor housing and frame but the bottom of the compressor housing touches the cradle, maybe I should reclock the turbo or maybe I should get out the grinder.... I'm done for the day. A good night sleep and a call to turbo tech should do the trick.
BFH FTW! Some heat might help too. Gotta grind the cradle for a good fit. Here's how mine turned out. Also it would be easier to see if those pics were about 50% smaller.
