Default Drop compression or not?

It's right right around 10.3:1 with 0.040 cometics right now but I can get thicker ones to get it down to almost whatever I want. Do I leave it there and save myself the extra $375 for gaskets and pushrods as my preload is going to change or get it down to 9.5:1 ish and get new stuff.
This is a forged 346, ecs 1500, stg 1 fuel system and single nozzle meth.
Any opinions or thoughts appreciated.

What you gain in CC you lose in quench. If you insist on lowered compression do it right with dished piston or ^ chamber size.
Sinking valves is also a mistake.
