Resonator causing turbos not to spool?
We are just wrapping up the sts install on my dads 03z and the turbos aren't spinning up, it seams the most common culprit for this problem is an exhaust leak or a faulty waste gate... We don't have either of those issues. The only thing we can think of is, is it possible that the Borla resonator is reducing the amount of exhaust pressure causing the turbos not to spool? At this point we are pulling the turbos to have them tested to make sure they are good and if they are the resonator seems to be the only thing left. Does anyone have any experience with this issue?

Ummm why are you even running resonators as that is most likely the problem. Most guys with STS systems dont run mufflers at all and are just fine noise level vs trying to fit a muffler/resonator on it. You really dont need it in fact I believe STS recommended not running muffs at all.

the resonator was welded into the midpipe and we were hoping not to have to cut it out and rebuild the center section of the exhaust, luckily we dont have to. it turns out the impeller on the exhaust sude of the turbo was chewed up so both turbos got rebuilt with new shafts. got them back and put the car on the ground as we learned that the car needs to be under load to make boost(unlike a supercharger) took it for a quick jaunt up the road and we have boost. now to get the tune dialed in and see what all this time and headache has earned us.
