Default Long post multiple questions "dead turbo"

Anyone know what the stock sts turbos specs (ar, mods for rearmountedness etc) were for an original, signal wastegate tt STS Kit sold for use in 04 on a c5 z06? It has/had the PI upgraded options from way back when not that I or original owner recall what that was....
Would you try to have the turbos rebuilt or just buy new? Any rebuilder suggestions (I have none local to me haven't torn down the bad turbo but both are gonna be pretty beat)?
Which would you buy? (I'm a smog controlled car and on a super tight budget have a daughter in first year of college in Netherlands which while I'm happy to pull it off for her as she worked hard to get in, but it has taken all hobby money and then some); goal is to have it back drivable cheap and quick.

I'm seriously considering some eBay Chinese knock offs. It's a cost vs usefulness issue. What do you think? It's a cheap solution if they work, last I checked I'm in for 700.00+ to rebuild turbos if they're even savable. While two new knock off turbos is about same cost might make more boost or spool quicker more progressive dunno why I'm asking opinions.... What about mix sizing turbos?
Never been a let the next guy deal with it type, isn't my usual style but I'm over fiddling and dumping my time/effort into a car I'm flat bored with. This particular car journey is over destination is what I was expecting and I want a new journey. For that to happen this one has to be road ready again.

(PLEASE Don't waste time with negative rear mount posts and or buy another manufacturers Kit AA etc I known these old STS kits pros and cons Iv lived with them and yeah while not perfect Im yet to encountered any fi that is truly perfect even less so when talking non factory fi designs); only CA smog legal setup I know of.

Engine is forged/girdled 347, w/ ls6 intake, Custom turbo grind cam 225/225 .611/.619 117 + 3, arp studded top and bottom stock ls6 heads and valves, rest is just quality valve train parts and proper supporting chassis / drivetrain mods that most use on modded vehicles.

Another more interesting question any math gurus or more knowledgable guys who want a discussion.... if Kit made 12 psi on two turbos why can't it make 6 psi on one?

Full story;
Long night / day we went to Race Night America yesterday @ Thunderhill. First event on the car since frame off rebuild and fresh motor current drivetrain has ~ 4000 miles on it.
Car was bought with an original 04 STS tt Kit on it and blown ring lands in 2010. Noticed She stopped making as many whooshy boost noises tooling around last few weeks but hadn't really been pushing the go go pedal. Factually majority of time I'm not in boost at all, I never had seen any smoke in rear view, even now doesn't smoke idling.

Did a wot blast on the drive too the track only got 1-2 psi! Figured boost leak but couldn't find one so decided to have a friend drive session one, and trailed him in e30 lemons car. I watched it go down the straight (much slower than expected ) immediately on downshift for turn 2 apex the car started puking oil and smoke out the passenger side turbo. (Right hand turn, oil n smoke should be on driver side if at all) Considering first sustained serious driving. I'm not extremely upset or surprised I expected issues; It developed an obnoxious leak in the two peice edelbrok timing cover (wouldn't recommend it or the edelbrok waterpump for $$$ not that great or useful cover is meh quality and leaky third time in 4k it's developed a leak in cover and water pump seem less efficient than stocker); a small leak in a petcock used in my custom oil return system, and a totally smoked turbo sadly the other turbo is right behind ready to fail. Funny I'm most upset that my fresh frame is now a big oily mess and my belts flung oil all over fresh engine bay. So rearmount nay sayers take note the OE OG STS Kit itself went over 70k @ about 8 years of heavy abuse. Only thing it ever needed previously was one pump replacement, and a few silicone couplers. I know this cars full history dropped original owner off at stealership for its original pickup in 02, helped install Kit in 04 been close friends for 20 years.
