I haven't ran speed density since..well I had my 88 GT. That said,...in my 00 E85-TT C5...I have two wide bands I use, 1 per bank... I know the IAT setup....I know the map setup....but are you guys using the oem narrow band O2 sensors? I guess you would need two widebands to NOT but...admittedly, I am only guessing. I am not the tuner but my tuner is friggin awesome...so I will ask him but, before I do....just curious what the C5 crowd has already done, since I have been out of the game for probably 5 years or so.
On a side note, I forgot to weld in a bung for my IAT sensor(I was running a newer maf and repinned to run a maf back years ago) in my new intercooler piping.
Like he mentioned above the factory narrowbands will help to make small fuel trim adjustments when the engine is running in closed loop. If the VE table (fuel map for SD tune) is tuned thoroughly then the engine will run just fine in open loop without 02's. I have left a few cars in open loop tunes simply because the car drove better in open loop. Since you have a wideband in the car to monitor afr ratio I don't see a problem with eliminating the factory 02's. Just have your tuner do a good street tune for all parts of the map and you should be g2g.
Ive been OLSD with my Vette for almost a decade now. My turbo truck is CLSD, and both use EFILive COS5 tunes. Some widebands can supply the narrowband signal as well. So it really depends on what you have now and the capability of your tuner Jamie

I **** canned the factory narrow bands because they are useless for E85 (and big cams). Run OLSD and tune for a leaner cruise than stoich and you will get better fuel mileage.

I must have missed your ninja post last time. Very cool, i'll talk to you more about it. I use Brian McMahon,..he's tuned a bunch of big power standing mile cars,...I just happen to be friends with him now for years. He's multi vehicle/system capable. Johan used to tune it, him and Brian tuned it years ago on the maf setup....looks like it'll just be Brian now. I am trying to get my dyno here finished up but unsure when that will be.

Good to know!!! I am E85...and a decent sized camshaft. I wouldn't complain about better fuel economy, thats for sure. Sounds like the ticket for me.

I'm curious why you say the narrow bands are useless with e85? Mine have been oscillating well and keeping it at Lambda 1.

You do realize that the factory narrowbands and Wideband oxygen sensors only read oxygen right? I'm not following how a narrowband has a problem reading with in its range (which is stoich) for any type of fuel.

I plugged the fronts in still(rears have been removed forever I think already) just cause I didn't want another unused harness, and I figure I could plug my DP holes anyways. I just moved my widebands a little closer to the turbos.

Must be that special E85 oxygen.

You reply first...no you reply first....
You're close! except someone else pointed your comment out to me, and I replied. I then tried to call Bret to see if he had seen it and his phone went straight to voice mail where I immediately received a text saying I'll call you back, face timing with someone real special. I never did figure out who or what was more important than my phone call until now!
