Default Quick question about meth injection

So I remember a few years ago the first time I talked to a guy at a car show about his sc kit, he said although he had meth injection his tune was not "meth dependent" and it was only for insurance against detonation. My question is this, can I order and install a good meth kit without a retune for now?, I only have a si trim with 3.4 pulley at 9.5/1 comp. will it net anything hp wise without retune? Is it harmful at all without retune? I plan on a retune later as I might get a bigger head unit. It will at least lower IATs won't it?

Thanks as always

Adam

You can, but it won't be ideal. It will make it richer, until you get it tuned for it. You can always install and turn it off, or way down until you get a new tune. This is what I did.

Thanks for reply

You turned yours down or off? How big of difference did it make after you tuned for it? So no real point in doing this at the moment?

Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

I'm not tuned for it. But just knowing that at 10 lbs. just knowing that the effective octane is way above 100 and the inlet temps are way down just makes me feel better. Rod

Turned it down so it wouldn't come on. I made a lot of changes and added the meth at the same time for safety, then had it tuned, so no before/after to compare.
