Starting to consider plans for this season, and would once again like to make a bit more power. Trying to decide which mods would be the best horsepower per dollar spent. Car is currently running with a built/forged LS6 (stock displacement), LG Pro Longtubes, B&B Bullet Catback, Halltech Venom II, SI2 Blower Cam, Vortech V3 Si (3.4 pulley). Numbers are 638/550.

Some thoughts are adding meth injection, and/or swapping to the T-Trim, and adding a more aggressive cam (Arun Jam Cam?).

What do you guys think? Meth Injection is at the top of the list, followed by trading in the Si head unit for the T-Trim. Also open to thoughts on the minor upgrades like a ported intake/throttle body combo and the cam.

How much additional power can be made from swapping to the T-Trim blower using the same 3.4 pulley?

I went from Si to Ti then a few months later to a Ysi. Wish I would have just went with Ysi.

Before you go swapping the cam talk to someone who knows cams and see if it's worth the time and money from what you have.

Meth is a no brainer, and the only kit to buy is Alky Control.

With stock displacement the ported TB/Intake wouldn't be worth the cost.

You didn't mention how much power you were wanting to make but ysi and meth is your best plan. Pulley it for the power you want to make now. When you get tired of that power level, swap pulleys. Rinse and repeat until you are maxing out the ysi or stock ls6 then re-evaluate.

Thanks guys, but I'm not sure the YSI is what I'm looking for.

If I had a goal, I'd say 750rwhp is good enough (I'm sure we all say that before going further...). I can swap out the S for the T-Trim MUCH cheaper than it would be to move to a YSI. I don't think that's in the cards for me, since it's a bigger unit and would need completely different bracketry.

However, meth injection and blower swap seems to be the route to go. I'm maxed out on the S-Trim right now with the 3.4 pulley, especially if I rev it out to 7k rpm.

If it really is best just to go YSI, then I'd probably just move to Meth injection this year and save the YSI for next winter. That way, I'll have enough time to re-evaluate the fuel system as well.

You mentioned $/hp. This is based on a&a's website.
S-trim 775 hp
T-trim 825 hp
Ysi 1200 hp

Maxing out each one, the T-trim is going to cost $50 per hp at $2500 to gain 50hp. Ysi is going to cost $8.23 per hp at $3500 to get 425 extra hp.

I don't think the t-trim is worth it. You mentioned swapping cams, ported intake and throttle body, etc. Save your money, sell the s-trim and buy the Ysi.

Excellent way to put it!

And after you factor in the trade in value A&A will give for your old blower (if you go that way) it will cost less.
