Didn't make a thread on this because it's been done a bunch, but I just finished the swap. It wasn't bad at all thanks to good members on here, Jeremy at RPM, and the 02 Service Manual.
Went with a Level X 4l60 w 2.85 planet, DSS shaft, and 3600-3800 triple disk Precision Converter. Mated it to a C6Z diff. Ed Hutchings put a tune together for me to drive the car around and make sure there are no issues before I take it to him week after next.
I also removed the ported 243's and added Trick Flow 225's and Arun's Jam Cam with Bret's Timing Set. Picked up Andy's new bracket with billet tensioner too.
Put a few miles on it yesterday in muggy VA weather and trans temp never got over 155, but I was grandpa'ing it around.
Thanks to everyone who helped me!!
So far I love it, and wish I would have done it earlier. I'll post up how she does after Ed works his magic. Then it's off to make some passes.

Becareful dynoing it... RPM will tell you to NOT dyno a 4l60... Many do though.
Make sure he doesnt jump on the dyno brake hard after the pull, thats what kills the clutches on the 4l60 since there is low line pressure with the throttle closed.
Ed's a good dude. Tunes for me and several of my friends.
390ci iron block (diamond/callies), YSI 2.85 pulley. He's awesome. Met him a year ago when he did my buddies C6Z. He worked wonders on it.

I used an Auto harness, stripped it down to what I needed to run the trans, and integrated it into the manual harness. As far as the PCM side I sourced the connector, pins, and TXL wire from Ballenger Motorsports in Richmond, VA and made it up myself.
Used factory hard line to the bellhousing then made lines to a B&M cooler that's mounted under the passenger side head light. All lines are wrapped in 2000 degree heat shield.
Very cool.
When I did my Z several years ago, I did the easy way with the entire auto harness and the silly expensive RPM conversion harness. Now I know better.
You may have seen me post about my buddy's Z that's been 9.47@155. Ed tuned that car over a year ago. It's a similar build to yours. Forged 347. YSi. Same heads. Same cam. 8"/3" pulley combo. 22 lbs peak boost.
He street drives it quite a bit.
920 to the tire thru a 6 speed and 3:42 rear.
That's awesome. I don't really have a goal for it because that'll just make me spend more money. I'm was tired of breaking stuff (and worrying about breaking stuff) with the 6 speed. Yeah it can still happen but the chances are reduced pretty good with the auto.
When I turned the ignition on for the first time I had no codes and she cranked right up. Took it for a drive and the cruise worked. I just knew there was going to be something stupid come up, but it hasn't (yet).
Very cool.

Now I have stupid leak on the left side of the diff. I replaced the seal 3 days ago for the same leak and it came back. Nothing at the vent or Oring. I just cleaned everything up with break cleaner and took a short drive. It's the seal....again....
Have you had a chance to push it yet, just curious about the trans temp, I was told in another thread that my temp of close to 190* pushing it hard on really hot asphalt, was really hot? Seems fine to me but wondering what you may be experiencing ? I could remove the fan temp control and maybe lower the running temps. Just not sure under 190* is a problem.
Good luck on the trans, an auto with power is a pleasure to drive, and you have much more than me.

Haven't pushed it yet. Waiting on axle seal to get here. I remember seeing that 200 was the magic number to keep it below. Could be wrong though.
It was pretty nasty (heat and humidity) Friday and the temp never hit 160, but that was just driving normal.
