I have an 04 so the pickup is on the top. Will I be able to access what I need to to install the hotwire kit without pulling the tank? I did a search but could not find anything.
Should be able to install it by just removing fender liner. Now they do sell an upgraded harness that runs to the top of the tank as well. This one requires removal of tank. Standard Hotwire harness runs from alternator to the plug at the filler neck behind rear fender liner.
Thanks for the responses. I will get one on the way. I looked at my alternator and there is only one charge wire on it, so I assume the hot wire kit was not installed on my car by the previous owner. I will get one in the mail.
It runs to the connector in the driver side fender well.
There is an additional kit you can buy that runs from that connector all the way to the tank (another 2 feet or so). You do have to drop the tank to install that one. Most people don't install it unless the tank is out for something else.

pretty sure you have to drop the tank or cut a hole in the hatch area of the car to access it.
can't do that...parts of the frame are in the way so that wont work....the hot wire kit runs to your alt...down your frame..you fish it through a hollow part of the frame along your rockers..then it will tie into your wires by your fuel tank....by removing the drivers side inner fender liner...should take about 30 mins total to install this
