Intermittant check engine flashing question
When driving over 6000 usually in 3rd i get a flashing check engine light...It then goes away within a minute...Any ideas :confused:

Misfire detected. I would start by taking a close look at the plug wires (things may be moving quite a bit as you shift)

Either that or your plugs aren't gapped correctly. At that RPM, there's a good chance the spark is being blown out creating the misfire. They should be gapped at .035 and make sure they're not platinum. Those little pucks fall off making the gap much wider. That'll do it everytime.

I had the exact same problem. Turned out #7 wire had a hole near the plug..brand new Taylor thundervolts. Actually cost me 20 hp on the dyno. Never set a PCM code.
