Default Boost Loss

Hello, so I took my 2002 z06 with a P1SC1 supercharger out for its first good ride this weekend since the Fall. I use to get about 9-10PSI. The highest I can get it right now is 3-4psi. Nothing has changed all winter with the car. I tightened the tensioner yesterday. Belt is tight. I cleaned out my BOV. I visually checked my vacuum lines.

Only thing I want to check is the boost gauge vacuum line. I am going to have to pull it out to see if its damaged at all.

My belt squeals pretty bad. I think I am going to order a new tensioner arm as mine has that gap on the top that I cant fix.

I dont think I have belt slippage though. I cant feel it while driving and my belt is tight.

Bringing it to get it re dyno tuned next week so I wanted to have everything good before the tune. I guess they might be able to find out whats causing the problem once its hooked up to the HP Tuners but not sure.

Any ideas as what it could be would be great. Thanks

How are you measuring boost? Can the gauge be bad?

Also if your belt is squealing - it IS slipping, fix that first.

I am using the Snow Performance digital boost gauge that came with my meth kit. I am going to check it out with an analog if I cant figure it out.

The belt or something squeals like crazy when the car first starts. Then it gets a little quieter. I think the new tensioner will help. I am gonna have to bite the bullet and order it.

If I buy the A&A mounting bracket is that a direct replacement for the stock procharger bracket? Do i have to move the plumbing or anything?

Thanks

Your best bet would be to call Andy or Josh at A&A, they are great people and I bet they would help you sort this out.

I have the same issue. I replaced the belt last year due to the squealing, and it fixed it right away. However, it came back and I need to replace the belt again...or the true cause of the squealing (tensioner?). Maybe I'll give A&A a call as well. Need to get this sorted before the 1/2 mile in May.

So, you guys think of the belt is squealing at all, that it has to be slipping? It was squealing just as bad at the end of last year and my 1\2 mile mph was exactly the same.

Had a bearing going out in one of the idlers on mine once upon a time and it squealed bad at start up, mostly went away once warmed up. Pulled the bearings out while it was hot and they would spin when warm but locked up once the cooled off

Just something to keep an eye out for

I just ordered a new tensioner arm assembly so hopefully that helps.
