I currently have a HCI C5Z with a direct port NO2 set up that I have a lot of time and $$$ invested in. I love the nitrous set up and was going to add a A&A VS3 T-Trim kit into the mix. But now I'm thinking about a turbo/nitrous combo. Just want to see if anyone has any experience with a LS turbo/nitrous combo?
TTiX on a forged 347. The 20psi setting made about 900rwhp on pump/meth. My plan for that build, instead of turning up boost and overdriving the turbos, I setup a 150 shot. If I ran a good fuel like 110-116 octane I didn't even have to retard timing.
the bottle never runs out with turbos and it's much easier on the engine and drive train components.
Nitrous is great with turbos but don't get too greedy as the cyl pressure will pop the motor very easily.
I'd stay with a small 100 shot to spool and then taper off the nitrous earlier as you reach 10 psi of boost or so which will happen quick on the drugs.
Beautiful car! Hope to see you at dulles landing again and we can talk.
I'll bring out the TTiX turbo and you can see what that's all about.
most people i have seen running nitrous basically use it as a meth kit. they spray a 75-125 shot and it helps IAT along with the boost in power n spool
Also comes in handy for gap insurance. In this race (1500ft roll) I started on boost only at 900hp setting. I thought it was enough to cover this GTR, but he started pulling me half track. So I grabbed the juice and went by him for the win. Perfect footage at 0:45 in this video. Too bad my trans went out and I couldn't finish the event...
For the drags I wasn't able to hook with 150hp off the line, hit too hard with lots of torque. I had better luck at 75hp, just enough to gets thing moving.
