I was talking to a friend of mine who drag races regularly. He told me the only place to refill notrous bottles around here (our local track) charges $4.50 per pound. Is that how much you guys pay?
Re: Average cost to refill a nitrous bottle? (QuickSilver97)
If you use enough of it and know people who use it, you can just go buy a refill station (maybe $500) and then buy it at about a buck a pound from a wholesaler. I pay like $1.75 a lb from a friend who does that (basically just paying him for his time, hassle, and gas for his pump). From stores, it's around $3.50 a lb, total rip.

10lbs for $40.
I could drive an hour to Dallas to have it filled cheaper. But this guy is local. And I have a system: My wife drops my bottle off during the day, they freeze the bottle overnight, and fill it the next day, then my wife picks it up for me.
