What's the easiest place to mount a single turbo? I seen a blue z with a rear mount with that looked pretty simple. I'm not wanting a bunch of power just a few psi and something to do. Any ideas from peeps that done it? Thanks in advance
Hinson single turbo kit may be the cheapest/easiest way to go single. Tipot and ruu_vet have done custom front mount singles and danzglass did a single rear mount.
If you are looking to go for it I am removing and selling my ceramic coated hinson manifolds and crossover pipe this week.

Ok thanks, my plans where gonna be a little later on down the road. I was just getting ideas on placement first.
The best, fastest single turbo build that I've ever seen came from Lethal Performance and has something in the neighborhood of a 100mm turbo mounted front and center. The thing makes killer power and has been running strong for years now. I think the build was completed around 2014. I found the thread. This car is still kicking *** and taking names. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...rbo-kit-2.html

Yeah he is always in the 1320video videos when they go to Texas 2k. It's a nice combo!

They look so good setting all purrty up front. I was leaning more towards rear mount, cause I'm lazy and it looked the easiest.

Keep an eye on my build thread and you can see what goes into making a front mount kit. Not all that difficult but you have to be willing to move stuff around.

It'll lose so much heat energy that the spooling will be a night and day difference between that and a front mounted setup.
I've wondered about spooling with it so far back. I didn't know know heat had anything to do with that though. I've also got a old vortec 5.0 that I may wanna experiment with first.

This is my old rear mounted T4 Master Power 70mm turbo spooling from a dig. It sees 15lbs in a reasonable amount of time.
Nobody makes a production front mount kit except hinson and I have a hinson hot parts kit for sale. Im doing a custom front mount build now and a few others members have done them in the last couple years
Theres no doubt rear mounts dont spool as fast. However it depends on yoiur priorities. On street tires, it can let you hook before the power hits. With a N2NB box and sticky toies I can make 3-4# on the line. You can brake boost for roll races...And there is always a small ntrous shot for an instant roll hit
Also advantageous for a street car is better wight distribution and less heat unser the hood. Also much easier to work on.
That being said, if you want simple and fast, front mount all day.
Keep in mind a rear mount entails a lot of fabrication.
