Coolant temp when supercharged
I've noticed a significant rise in coolant temperature after the Novi 1500 kit was installed on my 98 vert. My car car came from Florida to Norway, so I guess it had a cool thermostat in it. A typical Norwegian summer is 65-75 deg fahrenheit, and the car was running coolant temps around 165 deg when cruising, almost never ran past 185 deg even in stop and go trafic.
After the SC installation it's been cool outside temps, around 60 deg fahrenheit, and the coolant will run around 195-200 deg. In itself not much?, but I'm wondering where it will be when the outside temp is at 75 again. The rubber wind deflectors under the car are intact.
Is it ok that the coolant i running in the 195-210 deg area? Will the timing be pulled here?
The obvious thing is of course to go with a larger aluminium radiator, but since I live in a quite cool climate, I'm not sure I need to. Has anyone done any tweaks to advance cooling?
Thanks in advance;

195-200* is still well within a safe and normal range but I bet you that what is going on is that the airflow to your radiator is being blocked by your intercooler. I dont know what vendors kit you may have but see if air deflectors are in place that may help deflect air to the radiator while driving. I myself also run the low speed fan manually so that there is constant airflow through the radiator at all times.

Hans has not altered any fan settings from the base tune we got from you. I have talked to him about this, and he says we can program them more active, but I wanted to see how it will be when the temperature is higher first. If coolant stays below 210 deg it should be all good right? I'm not sure I would want the fans to run all the time...?
What puzzles me is that the coolant temp does not go much down when you cruise along a freeway at 70 mph, compared to driving around town. It doesn't go much below 190-195 deg even on long freway cruises in 60 deg outside temp. And this car stayed really cool before SC install. That tells me that the flow past the radiator is very limited now with the intercooler and all.
What I'm wondering is if there's fixes to improve cooling except fancontrol? Opening up the front more? Attach a winddeflector directly beneath/on the radiator? Things like that...

Drifting
what thermostat are you running? i have a 80° and when driving in traffic at 33° ambient water doesnt go above 83°. im surprised myself. my fans kick in at 83° and 86°.

I've read multiple posts on removing or making holes in the foglight shroud. Is there any reason NOT to do that mod? That should help the airflow to the radiator/IC nicely?
I need front licence plate, so without any other practical place to put the l.p. I will not do the airflow mod there...

First things first...how are you measuring temperatures ?
In colder climates, there really isnt much point in a very cold thermostat...in fact it's a bad idea in general.
I personally dont like OEM which runs at over 100degC although clearly it workks, I'd just be paranoid about it so hot...but one in the high 90's would be fine.
You should never really see an overcooling scenario with a hotter stat fitted no matter how big you went with the radiator, that's the job of the thermostat to regulate.
Change the stat first, and ensure fans come on/off at sensible times with regards to the stat fitted and desired temps.
