Default QT Bellhousing cutting...Am i ok or im stuck...again

Cannot get the picture from member Smoove since photobucket is now hiddings the pics on the forum

Got a QT-6035 bellhousing.I knew that i was gonna have to do some clearance/grinding.Did the 2 spot for the headers and its perfect.

Also i did cut the back plate flush to the oil pan(batwing) to prevent any rubbing or even worse...

I was ready to cut the bottom part of the bellhousing to match the back plate (last thing to do before my clutch install and dropping the new engine in the car) but if i cut it exactly like the back plate it leaves a small gap between the block/pan and the housing (roughly 3/16)...

Im worried about dirt, water, dust that could pass thru this opening...
Am i overthingking ???

Is the gap a ok go or should i redo everything ???

Btw im installing this housing to protect my feet , not to meet SFI regulation. If i get to my goal wich is 4 digit i wanna be protected
Thanks

PICS:
1st : back plate
2nd : Back plate too low
3rd/4th :clearance made for the headers
5th : Gap from bellhousing side
6th/7th : Gap from under engine/oil pan and you can see the back plate cut.

I don't have an answer but there is a workaround to view photobucket pics in Chrome and Firefox.

Do you drive anywhere where dirt would actually be an issue ?

Over here we get all sorts of ****, roads are usually stinking, mud, rain whatever. I've a QT ( non vette ), I did not use the engine plate....although the one they supplied me was aluminium and would never have have fitted with the flywheel either.

But I have gaps around the starter area, and the lower portions too. I've never had any issues with dirt ingress etc..

Perhaps a very dusty dry environment might be worse ?

Took off a little too much, but what can you do now. I have a pic of what I did, if photobucket will let you see it. I trimmed to help clear the speed bumps, which helped alot.

Well your right i cut a little too flush but the backplate is perfect fit.
New idea came in my freaking head during my sleep.

The gap/opening is vertical right now since i didnt cut it, but if i cut it flush to the back plate the opening will be horizontal and probably be half moon shape.
All i gotta do is cut the same metal shape and weld in in place. This will close the gap and thats it.

What do you think ???, sorry for the poor drawing but you get idea...i hope

Man, I'd just use those two holes to mount a custom plate you make to close the gap. then you could just put some seam sealer or silicone on the seam.

Cut it flush to the pan/back plate.
Create a small opening (half moon shape) of 4 inch long by at its peak 3/16 wide.
Opening was too small to ad a metal pieces so i build some material with the welder and grind it flush.

Everything is perfect and will get some pics when i ll fix the torque tube warped face issue...
